A Northville neighbor, finally taking his skin seriously — and building the local skincare resource I wish I'd had ten years ago.
My name is Todd, and I've lived in Northville since 2003 — moved here with my young family and never left. This is my town, and this site is for my neighbors.
For most of my life, my skincare routine was one thing: a bar of Irish Spring in the shower. That was it. Somewhere in my fifties, standing in front of a mirror, it stopped being enough. I started paying attention — asking questions, reading labels, booking appointments I would have rolled my eyes at ten years earlier.
I built Northville Skincare as the resource I wish I'd had back then: honest advice, product picks I'd actually put on my own face, and a real point of view on what Michigan does to your skin — the dry winters, the humid summers, the indoor heat, the wind coming off the lakes. Everything here is filtered through that lens.
I'm not the expert. I'm the curious neighbor who went looking for the right ones.
The people I actually see.
My go-to esthetician is Kendal, who works at Skin Experts of Northville. I've been on her table for facials — including her back facials, which I did not know I needed until I had one — and I've walked out every time understanding my own skin a little better than when I walked in.
I'll keep exploring new services around town. As I do, and as the estheticians I trust point me at products worth writing about, they'll show up here. Nothing goes on this site that hasn't been signed off by someone I'd send my own family to.
